Caroline & Jean-Marc will welcome you to “Ferme de Pen Ar Pont” (“Farm beyond the bridge”), a tied farm in the heart of the Rosporden region, a stone’s throw from Concarneau, Quimper & Pont-Aven.
You will be just a few minutes on foot from the High Speed Train station & the town centre shops, whilst enjoying the half-acre of garden overlooking the pond formed yesteryear by the meanders of the Aven river on its way to the Atlantic ocean about 15 km away at Pont-Aven.
“La Ferme de Pen Ar Pont“, built in 1660 & refurbished in 2022, offers 2 double bedrooms, “Le Chalutier” & “La Baleinière” (“Trawler” & “Whaler”). Breakfast, comprising a majority of local produce, will be served in the traditionally furnished living room of the farm or, weather permitting, outside on the sun-basked terrace.
You will also have access to our garden with easy chairs & some outdoor games.
No smoking.

Rosporden is ideally placed between Armor & Argoat (seaside & forest side in the Breton language). This means you can make the most of both types of holiday activity: wander around the villages, visit the numerous chapels, outdoor sports or cultural visits to discover the Breton way of life. You will not be at a loss for ideas of activities for both young & old.
This little town used to be an important rail hub during the development of trains in Brittany. There are still many stations, footpath sections, a very interesting rail museum at Guiscriff &, above all, the “Green Way” from Concarneau to Roscoff which follows & uses the ancient line. A few easy kilometres away, this Green Way takes you into the CoatLoc’h forest (“Forest of the Lake”) which used to be home to clog makers & is part of the realm of Anne de Bretagne.
There are no cycle hire shops in Rosporden but it is possible to reserve bikes at ouibike.net & have them to delivered to the appropriate address. There are cycle hiring shops in Pont-Aven, Concarneau & Benodet.
We are about 15 to 20 minutes from Concarneau, Quimper & Pont-Aven as from various sandy or shingle beaches. The Glenan archipelago, renowned for its underwater flora & fauna, can be reached by boat from Concarneau during the high season & is a prized destination for divers & to play along with the seals.
Or Douarnenez Bay, or Locronan, one of France’s prettiest villages with its typical houses of built local granite, huddling around the church & its fountain, or again Lorient to take the ferry to visit the charming island of Groix.
A little further afield, around 1h to 1h 30 by car, many other possibilities: Le Faouët, haunted by Brittany’s Robin Hood, Marion du Faouët; the Crozon peninsula & its micro climate; Abers to the north of Brest & its harsh countryside resulting from the storms which sweep North Finistère each year; the Huelgoat with the boulders about to topple over in the forest; La Pointe du Raz with its terrifying currents where the Atlantic meets the Channel; the fishing village of Guilvinec where you must on the quayside to welcome the return of the fishermen…
Further to the South, Auray, Vannes & the Morbihan gulf, Quiberon are excellent destinations for a day trip.
We would be delighted to share our favourite outings, rambles, walks & visits & even to let you in on the best restaurants that we have tried in these parts!!
